Abstract
In the article of the chief editor of the journal «University management: practice and analysis» describes the innovative project of the development of strategic management in Russian universities, realized together with the Ford Foundation. More than 40 Russian universities participated in the project. In the framework of this direction the following tasks are: introduction of strategic management in the university practice, promotion the strengthening of the institutions of the inclusion of the university community in strategic decision-making, promotion the comprehensive development of universities, the strengthening of their economy, strengthening of interaction between higher education institutions at the regional, inter-regional level, etc. The results of this project are presented in this issue.

Abstract
The article tells about the experience of strategic management at the Vladivostok State University of Economics and Service (VSUES). In its activity the VSUES uses advanced information technologies. In the basis of the marketing policy of the university is the orientation on the needs of the market of educational services and the labour market. The problem of increase of efficiency of studying in the university is solved by means of the optimization of educational process and its management, as well as with the help of introduction of modern technologies of teaching and learning. The mechanism of strategic marketing approach to education, experience of implementation and development of information technologies in all academic processes are considered.

Abstract
The article tells about the experience of strategic planning of the Mordovian state University. In the basis of the university management is linear-functional model, the lines of which are: decentralization of management is the delegation of powers and responsibilities, including financial activity, the structural subdivisions of the university (faculties and institutes), the creation of new specialized institutions at the university level, as well as the creation of new specialized structures, ensuring the implementation of the matrix of the model of management by areas of activity.

This article describes the experience of strategic planning of the Ural State Academy of Architectural and Art. The concept of the strategic plan is presented. As a theoretical basis of the concept used principles of strategic planning: development of competitive advantages, the use of certain methods (SWOT-analysis, programming, etc.), reliance on self-government and their own resources, corporation, the coherence between the interests of different groups, the concentration of resources and efforts on the main lines, etc. In the process of work on the concept applied synergetic rules of creativity.

Abstract
The article tells about the experience of strategic planning in Cherepovets State University. The strategy of the university - is a means of defining the goals and objectives of its development for a specific period of time taking into account the macro - and microeconomic conditions. Strategic planning is a process by which determined the further development of the university on the basis of the set goals. This process is based on systematic analysis of the university activity, assessment of its strengths and weaknesses, opportunities and threats of the environment and ends the development of plan of strategic actions. The strategic plan provides the university's guidelines for the perspective, helps to concentrate the efforts on the key moments of development, allows you to make the management of the university more open, ensure efficient use of available resources and sustainable development, etc.
