The history and characteristic features of the HSE as a leading Russian university are overviewed in the article.

This article considers the content, the instruments and the procedural aspects of innovative organizational forms of teaching at the HSE in the context of the course structure, the study scheduling, the quality assurance of student performance and training (as assessed by the academic staff and the students). The analysis of innovation-related problems and the perspectives of the development of such new forms are also outlined.

This article analyses the survey data related to the attitude of the academic staff and the students towards the penalties for plagiarism. It also considers various models of behaviour when the plagiarism cases are detected, and how they are approached and prevented at the HSE.

This article presents the organizational model of teaching in the frameworks of the International College of Economics and Finance at the HSE, which is an international-level Economic program leading to the Degrees of both Russian and British universities. Special attention is paid to the following issues - the program administration and financing, the development of an integrated curriculum, methods of teaching and assessment of student performance, the novel educational and research techniques, which provide the development of the academic potential of the ICEF and the quality of the programme.

The work is based on the experience of the HSE Library. It considers main stages of the development of the online subscription in a university library, incl.: the selection of online resources, the analysis of the demand in the ordered d-bases, the online information collection management. It is illustrated by the detailed presentation of the methods of assessment of informational and finance effectiveness of an online subscription, the projects of designing a unified catalogue of online resources and integration of the data related to online and printed collections, and the perspectives of the use of the OpenURL technology by libraries.

The article addresses the twofold problem related to the rapid growth of the university - what are the ways to increase the level of independence of the faculties together with their effectiveness, on the one hand, and to promote their interrelations to maintain the high level of the educational services provided by the university

This article deals with the issues of organization of the finance planning, monitoring and analysis of the HR management as applied to the nowadays activities of educational institutions. They include: the acquisition of extra rights to determine the strategy; the possibility to conduct educational activity on a fee-paid basis as well as for-profit activities; setting up of the volume and the cost of the services; the increase of the responsibility for the outputs, the necessity to monitor the educational market and to position the university there.

The main channels of selection of the HSE entrants are analysed in the article. They include: the all-Russia Olympics on school-subjects, inter-regional multi-profile HSE Olympics, and the entrance test scores competition. Special emphasis is made on the procedure and the stages of the entrance tests, as well as on the generalization of the experience of the application of the Unified Federal Test scores.

The article presents various types of support provided to student initiatives, as well as student incentives and interest
groups. The structure and the mechanisms of the establishment of student organizations at the HSE are also considered.
