Школы бизнеса и компании уже давно сотрудничают между собой на национальном уровне и сталкиваются с одинаковыми проблемами в процессе интернационализации. На уровне школ процесс интернационализации включает новую формулировку исследовательских целей, политики подбора преподавателей, педагогических технологий и общего стратегического замысла. У большинства школ есть сильные национальные корни и в то же время и справедливые стремления к конкуренции на международном уровне. Данное обстоятельство объясняет роль соглашений об объединении и сотрудничестве, а также успешную роль международной сети в образовании в области управления, которая обеспечивает развитие программ по обмену студентами, получение двойного диплома и совместные проекты по обучению руководящих кадров. Независимые школы бизнеса активно ищут возможности роста на международном уровне, поскольку они менее связаны нормами национального законодательства и потребностью в финансировании по сравнению с их аналогами, которые работают на базе университетов.
